Menya Tsuru
麺屋 つる
Located near Ohanajaya Station, Menya Tsuru offers hearty bowls at the counter, from rich seafood-and-pork dipping broth brightened with yuzu citrus to extra-pork tsukemen and niboshi dried-sardine ramen.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A robust umami from rich seafood and pork bone broth meets the subtle, refreshing aroma of yuzu citrus. Located just steps from Ohanajaya Station, Menya Tsuru (麺屋 つる) serves tsukemen dipping noodles whose deep richness and punchy broth make an immediate impression from the very first bite. The thick dipping soup clings closely to the chewy, thick noodles, releasing a satisfying elasticity and rich wheat aroma with every chew.
For an even heartier meal, diners can opt for the niku-mashi tsukemen topped with fragrantly seared chashu pork, or the zenbunose option loaded with seasoned boiled egg and thick bamboo shoots. Lightly browned from the sear, the tender pork has a sweet, savory fat that deepens in flavor when dipped into the rich broth. Once the noodles are finished, requesting warm wari-soup to dilute the remaining broth offers a pleasant way to savor the clean aftertaste of the dashi stock.
The menu extends well beyond tsukemen, offering alternatives to suit any appetite, such as the ajitama niboshi soba featuring distinct dried-sardine notes, or the ramen kobuta piled high with vegetables. Adding countertop condiments like ichimi chili pepper or minced garlic lets you tailor each mouthful with a punchy accent.
Inside, the calm space is centered around counter seating, creating a relaxed setting that is easy to visit on your own. Payment is cash-only, and with hours spanning from lunchtime through late into the evening, the shop is a reliable stop after work or whenever a hearty bowl of noodles is calling.
